THE JOURNAL OF ECONOMIC ISSUES (ISSN: 0021-3624) is published in March, June, September, and December and is sponsored by the Association For Evolutionary Economics, Department of Economics, Coleman Hall 168, Bucknell University, Lewisburg, PA 17837
The primary focus of institutional economics is on the evolution of institutional processes of providing the material means of life. Early twentieth-century founders of institutional thought include Thorstein B. Veblen and John R. Commons, followed by Wesley C. Mitchell, Clarence Ayeres, Walton H. Hamilton, and others. These scholars laid initial groundwork for analytically relevant and empirically grounded inquiry in political economy.
The Association for Evolutionary Economics (AFEE) is an organization of institutional economists with members throughout the United States, Canada, Latin America, Western Europe, and Asia. The Association sponsors the publication of the quarterly JOURNAL OF ECONOMIC ISSUES. The JEI serves as the primary international publishing outlet for scholarly articles with foundations in original institutional economics. Papers that apply institutional analysis to current and ongoing economic issues of social provisioning processes are welcome. The potential spectrum of topics is broad including public policy, economic development, environmental and ecological issues, education policy, economic stabilization, labor relations, monetary management, and other topics. Papers that advance institutional theory and methodology are also welcome and interdisciplinary work is encouraged.
The June issue of the JEI consists primarily of papers presented at the annual meeting of AFEE which is held in conjunction with the Allied Social Science meetings each January. For more information about these meetings please contact either the Secretary-Treasurer or the Editor.
The Editorial Office is located at Department of Economics, New Mexico State University, Las Cruces, New Mexico 88003.
